Blue Star Plastics

Secondary services for custom injection molded parts or components.

Pad Printing Example

Pad Printing:

Blue Star utilizes two Combi 130 pad printing machines for ink transfer of custom images to plastic enclosures. This "wet" process allows image printing over irregular surfaces and much greater image clarity and sharpness than hot stamping.  We can produce clichés logos and images from any graphic artwork and in any pantone color.

Benefits:

l    Superior image clarity and detail

l    Allows printing on irregular and textured surfaces

l    Fine line graphics

l    Abrasion and chemical resistance

Hot Stamping:

Through heat and pressure, hot stamping is a "dry" process that transfers a color coating from a film to your injection molded part or component, making your part even more unique.

Benefits:
 l
Does not involve solvents or require drying.

l       Can be done on a variety of plastic materials.
    l       Produces consistent results

Returnable Packaging
Returnable Packaging:
Blue Star Plastics can package your part or assemblies in Returnable Packaging to further decrease your cost and improve your

Benefits:

l      Significant cost savings.

l      Better protection of product during shipment

l      Decrease Carbon Footprint

Sonic Welding:
Sonic Welding is an efficient, clean, quick method of joining thermoplastic parts by using ultrasonic sound waves to soften and bond plastic materials.

Benefits:
 l Eliminate long cure times
l Eliminate the use of adhesives, expoxies and chemical bonding
 l Install inserts quickly
 l Create leak-proof joints
l Fuse together a large variety of plastic materials
Sonic Welded Bearing

Heat Staking:

A simple Heat & Pressure process utilized to insert a metal component into a plastic part.

Benefits:

 l      Inexpensive assembly
 l      Low cost tooling

Insert molding example

Insert Molding:

Allows for other components (metal parts, molded parts) to be completely integrated into a plastic molded part during the molding cycle.

Over Molding:
Uses different component materials and integrates them into a single molded part (ie. gasket overmolded onto a base).
